In my 14s, I fell in love with the Japanese language and fed the audacious dream of enrolling to an exchange program and graduating in Japan. I studied obstinately, preparing for the future I was designing myself.

In a call to the consulate, my dream was shattered. That woman's laugh mocked my dream. After all, how could an ordinary boy from Piauí, from a tiny little town, who "never won at a math olympiad" get approved on Monbukagasho?

Those laughs buried the shreds of my remaining dream. For years, I put away my Japanese skills and walked away. I was pushed into the darkness, seeing my plans turned into a ruin of rubble.

復活

When I was at rock bottom, a hand reached out.
A great friend and brother-in-arms introduced me to Cybersecurity.
I found the spark that was missing to reignite my fire.
Technology saved me from the darkness and gave me back what had been stolen from me.

I rescued the language that was taken from me and decided to use it as my answer to the world.
